At Shinjuku Gyoen Gakuin, students move one academic level every six months, and through this breakdown of the program, we can measure the student’s steady improvement in language ability. The teachers we have gathered all have plenty of experience. For example, I myself, Principal Yoshimi Hasegawa, am a graduate of the Tokyo Foreign Language University and fluent in Chinese.
Teaching materials are carefully selected according to the student’s level. At the same time, to facilitate understanding of Japanese culture, we have hikes, receptions, social studies, and other such extracurricular lessons at opportune moments and have opportunities to acquire spoken Japanese to deepen cultural exchange with the Japanese. Through this method, students can master Japanese in a short period of time at this school.

Enrichment through extracurricular activities
Enrichment through extracurricular activities Here at Shinjuku Gyoen Gakuin, we believe it is important to personally experience Japanese culture through various extracurricular activities like the tea ceremony, wearing a kimono, home stay programs, and cultural exchange, not just learning in a classroom. We have extracurricular activities that everyone participates in twice a year (July and February), like theatre or field trips to Disneyland.
